Victoria RHD Control Initiatives

Expert clinicians in Victoria are motivated to identify people with acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease and provide education and support to people living with acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease and their families and primary care clinicians. 

Legislated notification of ARF and RHD

From 31 July 2023, Medical Practitioners in Victoria have a legal obligation to notify cases of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease in writing.
